Wheeling Weekend Preview from Stan

Wheeling Weekend (September 13-14)

Details of races this weekend at Wheeling

Friday Matinee:

Race 5 (Grade AA - First half of the twin trifecta force out): It would be easy to make a case for practically every greyhound in the field. The one dog Bob Beckel, loves the red blanket; the two dog Noon, a consistent top grade finisher; the three dog Flying Lone Wolf, three wins and two seconds in his last five races; the four dog Rio Wannarunner, won two out of his last three outings; the five dog KB’s Try This On, captured two out of his last three trips; the six dog WW’s Creamery, four straight seconds; the seven dog RS’s Locomotive, won two out of his last three races; and the eight dog Prometheus, tough test but likes midtrack.

Race 10 (Grade AA): Expected to battle for the early lead are the one dog Braska Subaru, the two dog Kiowa Flawless, the six dog Rio Riverrunner and the seven dog WW’s All Nighter. Coming late will be the eight dog TMC’s High Five.

Race 12 (Grade AA 3/8): Plenty of early speed in this test on the backside, including the two dog Carrigfergus, the five dog Shot At Stardom, the seven dog AMF Royal Lee and the eight dog WW’s Tear Down. Two closers in the race are the one dog TMC’s X Factor and the six dog RS Hard Drive.

Friday Evening:

Race 6 (Grade A): Although three grade droppers are in the field - the one dog Kay Outrage, the three dog WWK Spain Yellow and the five dog Majestic Mage - a youngster in the field, the seven dog Takeoff Approved, is one to watch. He missed by a neck in winning his first Grade A trip after winning Grade C by 10 ½ lengths and Grade B by 8 lengths.

Race 11 (Grade B): A pair of double grade droppers - the one dog Kay Kiowa Flyer and the three dog Saint Anna - will lock horns in a speed race to the turn. The two dog BF Debit may be sitting in a spot to get a good trip while the four dog Road Gator is coming off back-to-back wins in Grades D and C.

Race 12 (Grade AA): The six dog Kiowa Hoss Hayes has been red hot with three wins and a second in his last five top grade starts. The frontrunner will have company to the turn in the two dog KB’s Mr. Kramer and the five dog AMF Clearconcept. Another to consider is the one dog Boc’s Nikki G, who ran fourth in her first Grade AA start after back-to-back wins in Grades B and A after shipping in from Bluffs Run.

Saturday Matinee:

Race 9 (Grade AA): Battling for the early lead should be the one dog Flesk Flyer, the four dog WW’s Sally Field and the eight dog Tango. Just off the pace will be the two dog Cry Comal and the six dog Go Bon Dodgem.

Race 12 (Grade AA 3/8): The favorites appear to be the two dog Groupie Doll and the four dog WW’s Cream Puff, both with top grade victories showing. The one dog Omega Miss draws a favorable hole while late speedsters include the five dog Sci Fi Fooie and the eight dog TMC’s Ruffian.

Saturday Evening:

Race 10 (Grade AA): Providing the early speed will be the one dog WW Sweet Gilbert and the three dog Jumper Jack with the six dog Lazy K Oak Hill just behind the leaders. The seven dog Misty Oak hit the trifecta in five out of her last six Grade A trips.
