It's Lonely at the Top

Winning With Eb Netr...
During my 30-plus years of going to the dog track, I've met quite a few people who make a living from betting on the dogs. They didn't come up to me and announce it, of course. I found out by seeing them at the track every day, talking to them, listening to them and watching how often and how much they bet. The biggest giveaway was how many times they cashed at the IRS window.
I've been to that window more than a few times, myself, but I don't live on what I make at the track. It's always been a secondary thing to me. These guys and gals, though, not only live ON the track. They live AT the track. That's the first clue to why most of the rest of the world hasn't heard about them.

Track Conditions in Your Handicapping.

Win With Eb...

Handicapping is an art, not a science. Never is this more obvious than when the weather affects the track and we have to figure out how it will affect the dogs we like. When the weather is sunny and warm and there's been enough rain in the last few days, the track will most probably be rated as "Fast" and its surface condition won't affect the running of the race that much.

But when it rains, or when it's snowy, dry or very windy - what then? Rain is tricky. If it just rains a little - like it does in Florida's afternoon showers - it might speed up the times a little, but have little effect otherwise. But when it rains heavily over a period of days, or when there's a very heavy shower before or during racing, it's a different story.

Three Ways to Win at the Dog Track

Win With Eb...

Sit in your car in the parking lot of any greyhound track and watch the bettors go home after the races and you can testify that 90% of them go home losers. If you're in the 10% who win, you don't mind those statistics. If you're one of the 90%, why not switch to the 10%?

I can hear you saying, "Easy for you to say. How do I do that?" I'll tell you a few ways you can migrate to the winning side. First of all, you have to believe that there is a way to make money at the track by picking dogs that are likely to come in.

Notice, I didn't say "dogs that are GOING to come in." I'll be the first one to tell you that no one can be positive that a dog is going to run in the money. However, if you hone and practice your handicapping system, you can be pretty sure that a dog is a contender when you bet it.
